1) Scope
This Refund Policy applies to bookings made directly with Golden Ridge Base. If you booked via a travel agent or marketplace, their policies may also apply.
2) Cooling-off period
Many of our services are time-specific leisure services involving accommodation, transport, and activities. Under applicable consumer laws, such services may be exempt from standard cooling‑off rights once a specific date/service is confirmed.
3) Standard cancellation timelines
Unless otherwise specified in your quote/invoice, our typical cancellation terms are:
Small‑group departures
- 61+ days before start: refund of payments minus 5% admin fee or 100% credit
- 31–60 days: 70% refund or 100% credit
- 15–30 days: 40% refund or 80% credit
- 0–14 days: non‑refundable; 50% credit may be offered at our discretion
Private/Custom trips
- 91+ days: refund of payments minus 5% admin fee or 100% credit
- 61–90 days: 70% refund or 100% credit
- 31–60 days: 50% refund or 80% credit
- 0–30 days: non‑refundable; credits case‑by‑case depending on supplier recovery
4) Non‑refundable items
- Airfares, rail tickets, event tickets, and permits issued as non‑refundable by suppliers
- Visa fees, insurance premiums, and merchant/payment fees
- Peak/holiday supplements and special experiences if stated as non‑refundable
5) Date changes and rebooking
We aim to be flexible. Where possible, we will apply amounts paid toward a new date or traveller credit. Change fees and price differences may apply.
6) No‑shows and early departures
No‑shows and unused services after trip start are non‑refundable.
7) Cancellations or significant changes by SkyWave
If we cancel a departure or make a significant change and you do not accept alternatives, you may choose a full refund of recoverable amounts or a future travel credit. This does not include losses for independently booked flights or services not purchased through us.
8) Force Majeure
For events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, government action), we may offer rebooking or credits. Cash refunds depend on recoveries from suppliers.
9) How refunds are paid
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
- Processing time: typically 5–10 business days after approval; bank/card timelines may vary.
- We refund net of non‑recoverable supplier costs and any applicable admin/processing fees disclosed above.
10) Chargebacks
Please contact us first to resolve issues quickly. Filing a chargeback without giving us the opportunity to resolve may delay outcomes; we will provide documentation to the card issuer.
11) Merchandise (if applicable)
Unused merchandise may be returned within 30 days in original condition for a refund or exchange, excluding shipping.
12) How to request a refund
